Temma's Mitzvah Project

An important part of becoming a Bat Mitzvah includes understanding and internalizing the concept of a "mitzvah". The literal meaning of the Hebrew word mitzvah is commandment, although is generally thought to be a good deed. The emphasis is on deeds—not on positive thoughts or wishes, but on conscious acts of empathy and kindness. It is an important step toward becoming an adult to truly think of others and embrace the concept of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) and having compassion for others.

As I approach my bat mitzvah, I am excited to partner with Make-A-Wish for my mitzvah project. I'm raising money to help grant wishes for children with critical illnesses. It's truly amazing what wishes can do. A wish renews hope, uplifts spirits and encourages the belief in the impossible. Make-A-Wish grants thousands of unique wishes each year. A wish begins with hope. And hope begins with you. Together, we can grant more wishes. I am fundraising through projects at school and in my community. More details coming soon. Please consider donating today in honor of my bat mitzvah by clicking here.

In addition, I am raising money for Magen David Adam. In this terrible time of terror, my family and I are drawn to the unimaginable suffering going on in Israel.  In support of Israel,  I am pledging support to Magan David Adom to help people suffering from this horrible crisis. Please join me in the effort by clicking here.

Thank you so much for your support!!

Love, Temma
